Ondo Culture and Tourism Sector to Get Facelift

Culture and Tourism in Ondo State may soon get leverage as Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has pledged full Government’s  support to give a facelift to the sector.

Governor Akeredolu made the promise during a visit made by the State Ministry of Culture and Tourism to his office.

The visit which was led by the ministr3ys Commissioner, Alhaji Ismaila Olurimisi and the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Taiwo Kolawole featured short cultural display and presentation of an amazing artistic image of the Governor.

Alhaji Ismaila Olurimisi highlighted the challenges confronting the Ministry, whilr stressing that the Ministry’s revenue generation base would increase if those challenges were addressed.

He said, “Mr Governor, we have toured all the tourist attraction center in the State.  Our cultural team has won many awards home and abroad. But we have some challenges. We don’t have operational vehicles.

” We don’t have enough costumes and musical instruments. If these challenges are addressed, our capacity to generate internal revenue would increase tremendously “.

The Governor, while responding, thanked the Ministry for the presentation and gave assurance to always support Culture and Tourism in the State.

” Whatever it’s to support Culture and Tourism in the State I will do.  I know we have a very strong cultural team.. Bring your request, I will attend to it. But I believe in public private partnership driven Tourism. So,  look for partners, I will support you “, he added.
