The Ondo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Femi Agagu has reiterated the determination of the Rotimi Akeredolu-led government in the state to create enabling environment for teaching and learning; as well create jobs for the people, through vocational and entrepreneurial trainings for self sustainability.
Agagu emphasised this while addressing an assembly of Home Economics Teachers’ Association of Nigeria who paid a courtesy visit to Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology last week.
The Commissioner stressed that Government was ready to give desirable support to encourage any group or individuals that was ready to contribute meaningfully to the growth of Education Sector in the State.
Also speaking, the Ondo State Head of Service, Mr Toyin Akinkuotu who welcomed members and the executive of the Home Economics Teachers’ Association of Nigeria from across the thirty-six states of the country including the federal capital, Abuja to Ondo State described Home Economics subject as one of the critical core subjects that create jobs for jobless people
“I am happy to be part of this today. One of the critical core subjects that is creating jobs for the Youths today is Home Economics and for the Government that interested in creating jobs for her youths, we think we will support your good initiative.”
